Hi guys! Welcome to our very first blog post.
Today we landed in London, England at Heathrow Airport and immediately drove from the airport to Bristol. When we stopped to get a bite of authentic British food we were surprised to see the beautiful views but also to feel the briskness of the cold weather! It felt like it was winter (typical day in England) because of all the rain and wind.
We arrived at the Bristol Youth Hostel at around 3 PM (10 AM American time). After we arrived, we settled into the cozy rooms and got to enjoy a well-earned 2 and a half hour break. Some of us ventured through the colorful streets of Bristol while others rested from the long flight. At 6:30, we were called down for a very typical British meal. We had potatoes, chicken, and stuffing (in ball form) for the main course, and cheesecake, chocolate cake, and jelly donuts for desert. It was delicious!
After dinner, we enjoyed an evening walk alongside the harbor, located right outside of the hostel.
After a small unexpected detour, we headed to the cathedral where everyone took out their phones to capture the breathtaking views. We then hiked up to a tall tower; when we got to the top of the hill we were suprised with a great view of the whole city.
However, it quickly started to rain, sending us running down the hill. (But it was worth it!) After a long day of activities we are finally back at the hostel, ready to snuggle into our cozy beds.
