hoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me. -Mark 9:37
At Christ Church Greenwich we believe that children begin their spiritual journeys at a very early age. We act in partnership with parents and our worship community to create an engaging, nurturing environment for Christian formation with our Children’s Ministries. From Child Care, to our Children’s Worship Services and Church School offerings, to serving in the community as a member of the choir or an acolyte, we invite you and your children to be a part of this vibrant community of faith.

Infants and Toddlers
On Sundays, we provide Child Care for infants in the Rainbow Room of the Education Building (Nursery School) while their parents participate in worship services or Adult Education Classes. Some children meet their first church friends in Child Care, and they continue to grow together through Confirmation and beyond.
Pre-K and Kindergarten*
Preschool and kindergarten-age children attend their own worship service in the Family Room, which takes place in parallel with the 9:15 am “grown-up” service. The children sing songs, listen to Bible stories, and pray together before joining their parish family in the Church for the celebration of Holy Eucharist.
Grades 1 through 5*
Our Children’s Service in the Chapel is for all children in grades 1 – 5. At this service, they will sing songs, listen to the gospel reading of the day, hear some words from the priest, say age-appropriate prayers, and from time to time have their own instructed Eucharist with one of our clergy. This service also runs concurrently with the 9:15 am adult service in the Church, and the children will return to their parish family at the Peace.
*Parents who desire are welcome to stay with their children for this offering.
Immediately following the 9:15 am service, Church School classes for children in pre-school through grade five begin in the Education Building (Nursery School).
Christ Church Nursery School offers programs during the week for children ages 2, 3, and 4. CCNS strives to deepen a child’s understanding of spiritual values such as kindness, mutual respect, and cooperation. When children leave our school we believe they will be independent thinkers, risk takers, and good friends who will grow up to make a difference in the world.
