Christian Formation

In 2015, the Christian Formation Commission, in partnership with the clergy and staff of Christ Church Greenwich, produced a Lenten booklet, with reflections from clergy and lay leadership focused on the Gospel of John. The parish read through the entire Gospel during Lent. And in Advent, a new electronic meditation initiative was launched.

The Endowment Commission provides the Rector, Wardens, and Vestry with information and technical expertise needed to fulfill the mission of Christ Church Greenwich by becoming better stewards of the Parish’s financial assets. The Endowment Commission oversees the solicitation, collection, management, distribution, and reporting of the permanent capital resources of Christ Church Greenwich.

The Finance Commission’s primary mission, in conjunction with the Treasurer, is to propose and monitor the church’s annual operating budget, with input from all areas of the church including the Rector, Wardens, Vestry, Executive Director of Finance & Business Operations, Executive Director of Marketing Communications & Parish Relations and Commissions, on both revenues and expenses. The final budget is approved by the Vestry.

The Christ Church Greenwich Membership Committee strives to provide a welcoming community for all parishioners and newcomers. The committee hosts several annual events. The Great Fall Festival introduces all of the many Church Missions and the Parish Christmas Party brings parishioners together to start the holiday season. The committee hosts two annual Newcomer Welcomes as an introduction to all that the Church has to offer. The Committee has Welcome brochures and cards available at all Church services.

The Pastoral Ministries Commission encourages and supports many activities that make Christ Church Greenwich a place of care and connection. We pay special attention to members of our church family who can no longer get to church due to illness or lack of mobility. The 2016 Annual Appeal was quite successful, raising $1,297,747 to support God’s work at Christ Church Greenwich. This pledge total was just barely shy of our budgeted goal of $1,300,000.
