The Rev’d Suzanne M. Culhane, Curate for Stewardship
Suzanne Culhane, a recent graduate of the Episcopal Divinity School, serves as Curate for Stewardship. A native New Yorker and a cradle Episcopalian with a deep love for the Church, Suzanne was an active parishioner at St. John’s in the (West) Village for over fifteen years. There, she served as a Vestry member, Lay Eucharistic Visitor, Sub-deacon, Outreach Chair, Church School Coordinator and Stewardship Chair. She also co-founded Episcopal Response to AIDS, a multi-diocesan effort to support parish-based AIDS ministries.
Suzanne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Siena College. Prior to ordination, she enjoyed a 15-year career in non-profit development, with a focus in providing consulting assistance to religious and social service organizations. Her expertise includes designing capital campaigns, development plans, major gifts and annual giving efforts as well as internal capacity building and partnership initiatives. Working with three international firms, over the course of her career, she has assisted more than 100 organizations in achieving their fundraising and programmatic goals. Past clients include Trinity Church Wall Street, Trinity Church Boston, St. Anthony Shrine, The Capuchin Franciscans, Order of the Holy Cross, Catholic Alumni Partnership, Inwood House, Yoga Hope, National AIDS Fund, United States Department of State, Asian Cultural Council, School of American Ballet, Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology and Montefiore Medical Center.
In her spare time Suzanne enjoys yoga, cooking, correspondence, running and dance. She also serves on the Advisory Council of Shakti Sharanam, a yoga and holistic learning center in Crestone, Colorado.
