Mary Cattan, Pastoral Psychotherapist
Mary Cattan is professionally available to parishioners — individuals, couples and families — as well as to the wider community by appointment. She trained at the Blanton-Peale Institute in New York, where she earned certificates in Pastoral Psychotherapy and Marriage and Family Therapy and where she served for many years on the faculty, teaching and supervising residents.
Having earned a Masters Degree in Spiritual Direction from General Theological Seminary (NYC), she also holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Andover Newton Theological School (Newton, MA), where she was awarded the Henry C. Brooks Award for Excellence in the Field of Pastoral Theology and Pastoral Counseling.
She is a certified Imago Relationship Therapist and has done extensive training in Internal Family Systems Therapy. She is licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in New York and Connecticut.
Mary first came to Christ Church in 1963. Now widowed, she is the mother of four adult children, two stepchildren, and, to her great joy, a multitude of grandchildren.
Her office is located in the Christ Church Annex, where her services are offered on a fee-for-service basis, with sliding scale available.
Mary can be reached on her private office phone: 203.862.9161, on her cell: 203.249.1018, or by email.
