Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

Movie Screening
& Panel Discussion

Thursday, September 13

Join us to view the hit documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? about Mr. Rogers and the values he represented in raising grounded and loving children! What about those values has Hollywood buzzing? What does it mean to our schooling and raising of children today?

Fred Rogers was a social justice activist not only for children, but also for minorities. He was an ordained Presbyterian minister and used his “calling as a minister” to create his famous PBS television series to educate parents, children and neighbors about the importance of unconditional love and treating one’s neighbor as you would want to be treated. Fred Rogers made a huge impact in many ways – including on men’s roles in child rearing.

The movie screening will be followed by a panel discussion with The Rev’d John Branson, Interim Rector, Christ Church Greenwich, Jennifer Purdy, Director, Christ Church Nursery School, and Louisa Greene, Director of Development and Marketing, Avon Theatre Stamford, for a discussion of their perspectives.
