Create A Masterpiece with Hazel Jarvis!

Join Arts & the Spirit

for a Watercolor Painting class

Saturday, June 12th, 10:00 – 12:30

Join master watercolor artist Hazel Jarvis and learn three different ways  to paint a rose, an iconic symbol of Christianity (see stained glass window article above). You will take home a beautiful reminder of a delightful morning of creativity and accomplishment. A former student calls her  a “magic maker”.

Hazel is widely known and respected for her work, which hangs in the permanent collection of The Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon University. Hazel also teaches watercolor classes to a devoted following at the Greenwich Botanical Center. For more information about her work, please see

Fee for the class is $35 plus $20 for the following supplies if needed: a plastic palette, a set of good quality brushes, 2 sheets of watercolor paper, one fine line marker and paints. Please reply to Rebecca Fretty at to save your spot.   Payment can be made by check made out to Rebecca Fretty and sent to 107 Cognewaugh Road, Cos Cob, CT 06807 or brought to the class.  RSVP by Tuesday, June 1st so we have time to get supplies organized.

The class will be held in the Christ Church Greenwich Parish Hall.  All COVID-19 Protocols by the state and Episcopal diocese will be observed.  Currently that requires wearing a mask indoors.
