Farewell to Becky Ford

For the past 5 years, Christ Church has been blessed to have Becky Ford as the manager of the bookstore.

Becky started her journey as a bookstore volunteer and when the opportunity arose to reimagine and reinvigorate the store, she accepted the challenge with great enthusiasm. In five years’ time, Becky was able to take the store that was struggling financially to earning a surplus.

More importantly, Becky created a community around the bookstore. The mezzanine became the place for nursery school meetings and for the choir kids to do their homework. The bookstore is where we all grab a coffee while shopping at the Easter Basket Bar or the Holiday Shop during Christmas.

Dogwood Books & Gifts is now an essential part of our ministry at Christ Church.

In addition to her role as Bookstore Manager, Becky led our Courage & Faith speaker series, introducing us to some of the most important faith-based voices of our time including Bryan Stevenson, Rachel Held Evans, James Martin, Greg Boyle, Amy-Jill Levine, Nadia Bolz Weber, Peter Enns and Austin Channing Brown. She also served on the Marketing & Communications Committee and Prayer Team for the Transition Process in the search for the next Rector of Christ Church Greenwich.

While we will all miss Becky’s leadership, her legacy will remain. We wish her the best as she embarks on this next chapter in her career, returning to her life as an artist.
