Scholars have called the Gospel of Luke the most contemporary of all the four Gospels. With Luke’s emphasis on the place of women in the church and society, his remarkable compassion for human need (he was a doctor) and his conviction that Jesus loves all people equally, Luke’s is truly a Gospel for our time.
This Lent, at the invitation of our Presiding Bishop, our parish will be participating in The Good Book Club, a churchwide program that invites the reading of the Gospel of Luke during Lent.
We invite you to join Terry Elsberry for this Lenten study of Luke’s Gospel:
Wednesdays (February 21 – March 28)
10 – 11:30 am, Family Room*
As a resource we’ll be using Forward Movement’s Day by Day booklet for Lent (copies available in the Lower Hallway and Chapel Foyer) and A Journey with Luke (available for purchase at Christ Church Books & Gifts).
Come and bring a friend as we discover how best to live the Christian Life.
*All study sessions will take place in the Family Room, except for February 28, when we will meet in the Chapel.
