In 1976, a small group of people from local Greenwich, CT churches founded Greenwich World Hunger Association, Inc. (GWHA). GWHA’s mission is “to help alleviate world hunger through education of the community and promotion of self-help programs for the hungry.” Working with trusted individuals, as well as local, national, and international organizations, GWHA provides sustainable strategies for improving nutrition, health, water, and family income in impoverished communities worldwide. GWHA also supports educational programs, job training facilities, and scholarships.
