Clifton grew up in Greenwich and attended Greenwich Country Day School. He was confirmed and was an acolyte at St Barnabas Church on Lake Ave, but learned later that he had actually been baptized at Christ Church Greenwich. He attended St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire and then the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Clifton started his career in Equity Research with Montgomery Securities as an associate and later went on to Kauman Bros where he was awarded “Best on the Street” in 2002 for calls made in the technology sector. After research, he moved to a trading firm named Reynders Gray & Company that was a firm his father had started in 1979 and had roots on the NYSE. After nine years on the floor, he moved outsourced trading firm Tourmaline Partners where he has been employed since 2011. Clifton currently serves on the Church’s Finance Committee, and in the past has served on the Children’s Ministry Committee and as well the Discernment Committee during the process of searching for our new rector. He also serves as an usher. He is an avid double’s squash player and an outdoor enthusiast, including running, skiing, biking, and golfing.
