Sara LaPorta and her husband Len have been members of Christ Church Greenwich since 2010. Their son Leonardo was confirmed at Christ Church in 2013. Over the last 3 years, Sara has co-led the CCG Friends Group which encourages all members of the Christ Church community to gather socially, break bread together and share in the joy of getting to know each other as neighbors. She is now co-chair of Parish Development, helping out with fellowship, hospitality, new member ministry and major parish tent-pole events, such as the Great Fall Festival.
Sara and Len moved to Greenwich in 2008, and previously lived in Tampa, FL, Barrington IL, and prior to that in Boston MA where they were married and attended Trinity Church. Sara grew up in the UK, via Brazil and Ireland. She completed her BSc in Biology and her PhD in Plant Pathology and Biotechnology from King’s College London. She was lucky enough to be awarded a Kennedy Scholarship to attend MIT for her MBA in 1988, and remained in the US for her work with Boston Consulting Group. Most recently, Sara worked for PepsiCo where she held positions in consumer insights and strategy, and lead PepsiCo’s Global Competitive Intelligence group. She also sits on the Advisory Board of the Eli Lilly animal health company Elanco.
